What is an AI output?

Jump uses AI to generate several kinds of outputs:

  • Pre-meeting prep

  • Notes

  • Recap emails

  • Tasks

  • Analytics

  • Other

Jump generates these based on underlying prompt templates, and Jump users can customize these templates (with the exception of tasks and analytics).

Jump uses data in the CRM to generate the pre-meeting prep, and the meeting transcript to generate notes, recap emails, tasks, analytics, and other custom outputs.

How does Jump know what outputs to generate?

Jump lets you have multiple note templates, multiple recap email templates, etc. To figure out which to use, it looks at the transcript, determines what kind of meeting that was, and then uses the corresponding templates.

Customization principles

  • Don't underestimate the power of one solid, flexible note template: Because Jump's AI varies the content of your notes based on the transcript, one well-structured note template can accommodate multiple different kinds of meetings.

  • Do your drafts in Google Docs, or some other system with version control: If you write a note template inside Jump itself, and then you accidentally delete that template, you can't get it back. It's better to do your drafting with another tool, and then copy in the result into Jump for testing.

  • Customization is not necessary! The majority of Jump's users find that Jump's default templates fit their needs well enough that they don't need to customize. You don't have to do any customization to get major value out of Jump!

The steps in the customization process

Step 1: Try several meetings using Jump's default templates

If you're on a Full seat, your Jump account comes equipped with meeting types and their associated templates from the get-go. The majority of Jump's users try out Jump, and like Jump's default outputs enough that they don't customize them. Other users try out Jump, and decide there are aspects of the Jump templates they want to maintain even as they customize.

Step 2: Determine your objective

The simplest customization is one where you want one or two adjustments made to the current Jump meeting types / templates.

More complex customizations involve having Jump recognize different kinds of client meetings (quick check-in v. an annual review, etc.) and produce a different note template for each.

This step's main goals are to decide:

  • What meeting types do you want (in addition to Jump's default ones, or as a replacement for those)?

  • What outputs do you want (in addition to the default ones, or as a replacement for those)?

Step 3: Reach out if you want Jump to give you a head start

If you like aspects of Jump's core meeting note, and you'd like to edit that prompt, reach out to our team via the messenger in the bottom-right corner of this screen (or the bottom-right corner of my.jumpapp.com) and we can make some template language available to you inside Jump so that you're not starting from a blank slate. This is especially helpful if all you want to do is make small adjustments to what Jump already provides.

In your message, just say: "I'd like access to the template for the core note," or "I'd like access to the template for the client recap email," etc. We'll then go into your settings and make these available.

Step 4: Add, remove, or edit meeting types

Jump comes with several default meeting types: Client meeting, intro / discovery meeting, internal team meeting, etc. If you have an annual review client meeting, and its note structure differs substantially from your quarterly check-in, say, you might want to break the client meeting into two separate meeting types.

Step 5: Decide where in your CRM you want your notes to be saved

Jump has deep integrations with Salesforce, Wealthbox, and Redtail, and can save notes to most locations, either by updating a field on an existing object, or by creating a new object entirely.

Step 6: Customize the note and / or recap email templates

You can mix and match note and / or recap email templates across multiple meeting types. You'll also want to add an example for each template.

Step 7: Assign note and recap email templates to your meeting types

Now that you have meeting types, and templates for your AI outputs, all you need to do is combine them so that Jump knows that a transcript from meeting type X should cause Jump to generate notes using template Y.

Step 8: Test and iterate

Now for the fun part -- Go back a previous meeting and reprocess it with your new note templates! Once you've seen the output, determine if you'd like to make tweaks to the template. Reprocess again and iterate until you're satisfied with the outputs.

Step 9: Decide if you want to customize pre-meeting prep, or you want other bespoke customizations

Jump generates a pre-meeting prep note based on data in your CRM, and it's possible you'll want to add or remove parts to this pre-meeting prep note.

Jump also makes it possible to pull information of almost any variety out of a transcript so you can send that to your CRM (either by syncing it to a field on an existing object, or creating an entirely new object).

Step 10: Share with your teammates

Decide which members of your team you'd like to have the same note templates, and send us that list using the messenger on the bottom-right corner of this screen (or the bottom-right corner of my.jumpapp.com).
