Pre-meeting prep overview

The default pre-meeting prep automation in Jump has preset questions that the AI will answer to prepare you for your client meetings. Jump can generate a pre-meeting prep note if:

  • Jump can identify the client for an upcoming meeting

  • Your connected CRM contains information about the client

Note: Learn more about how to ensure Jump can generate pre-meeting prep from this help article.

How to customize the pre-meeting prep automation

If you would like to customize the pre-meeting prep notes, you can update the default automation by adding or removing questions from it.

Note: If your CRM contains custom objects that you want Jump to have access to while generating pre-meeting prep, please reach out to our product specialists via the Jump Help chat or [email protected].

How to access the pre-meeting prep automation

To access the pre-meeting prep automation, go to User settings > Automations.

Within the Automations tab, scroll down to the "Do this..." section. Hover over the Meeting Prep action, then click the edit icon on the right-hand side.

A pop-up window for the pre-meeting prep automation will appear, where you can make adjustments to the template.

Adding questions for pre-meeting prep

To add questions for future pre-meeting prep notes, scroll to the bottom of the pop-up window and click on the green Add question button.

A new "Field" box will generate.

You can use one of Jump's default templates for pre-meeting prep questions by leaving the "AI-generated using template" button untouched. Or, you can click on the button and change it to "AI-generated custom."

Using the "AI-generated using template" option

The "AI-generated using template" option is the most straightforward. It allows you to access default templates that cover a variety of topics you may want to have in your pre-meeting prep.

To use the template option, do not change the "AI-generated using template" button.

In the "Question" field of that box, write the question you want to add.

In the "Template" field, choose the template that seems most applicable (or select "Other" as a catch-all).

The template options are as follows:

  • "Client Goals and What Matters to Them": What the clients' life and financial goals are and what matters most to them, based on past notes

  • "Household": List the members of the client's household, their ages, notable hobbies, interests, and other facts

  • "Recent Meetings": List the last two or three meetings with this client and a concise summary of each meeting

  • "Suggested Conversation Starters": Three suggested conversation starters based on personal information gathered about the client

  • "Upcoming Life Events": Recent or upcoming life events and how the client feels about them

  • "Past Concerns": Three recent concerns the client has brought up

  • "Other": Anything else not covered by the other questions that the advisor would want to know before going into a meeting

Using the "AI-generated custom" option

Alternatively, you can change the new question field to "AI-generated custom" and provide a more detailed prompt for the AI to use.

Click on "AI-generated using template" and from the drop-down, select "AI-generated custom."

Beneath the "Question" field, you will see a "Details" field and an "Example" field.

In the "Details" field, insert the prompt you want the AI to use. In the "Example" field, you can include an example of what you want the notes to look like.

Removing questions from pre-meeting prep

To remove a question from the pre-meeting prep template, locate the question you want to remove and select the corresponding "Remove question" button at the bottom right-hand corner of the box.

Saving changes to the pre-meeting prep automation

To save your changes, click the Save and close button at the bottom of the pop-up window before exiting.

When new pre-meeting prep notes are generated, they will reflect the changes you made (whether adding or deleting certain questions).
