How to upload a recording if a meeting is in multiple parts

You may have parts of a meeting in separate recordings. Here is how to combine the recordings and re-upload the new recording as one meeting.

If you have a meeting that has been divided into multiple recordings but you want Jump to process it as one meeting, you're in the right place.

There are a few reasons a meeting might be split out into multiple recordings. For example,

  • You were recording the meeting on your phone when the recording was interrupted by a phone call, and you needed to create a second recording for the rest of the meeting.

  • You recorded multiple sessions of a dictation or voice memo about a meeting.

Once you upload a recording to a meeting in Jump, there is not currently an option to upload a second recording to that same meeting.

To have two (or more) recordings process as one meeting, you will need to combine the recordings using a local video editing software (such as Quicktime) and then re-upload the recording as a new meeting.

(If you need to download the recording you already uploaded from Jump, see "How to Download a Recording from Jump.")

Once the recordings are on your computer locally, you can use video editing software to stitch together the recordings (this video or audio editing software may already be on your computer) and save them as a new recording.

We will demonstrate how to do this with QuickTime Player, a common video and audio editing program. You may need to download the QuickTime Player program from the internet to your computer.

Stitch Together the Recordings

Open QuickTime Player on your computer. You will be prompted to select an audio or video file. Select the first of the recording files you want to combine.

A pop-up window of that recording will appear. Select Edit from the menu at the top of your screen.

In the drop-down menu that appears, select Add Clip to End...

You will be prompted to select a second recording file. Select the next file and then select Choose media.

The pop-up window with the recording will now include both clips. Select Done to confirm that the two recordings should be attached.

Close out of the window, at which point you will be prompted to rename the clip in the Export as field. Select Save.

Upload New Recording

Click on the green "+ New meeting" button and select "Upload meeting audio" from the drop-down menu.

In the new meeting page that is created, you can rename the meeting (the default will be "Untitled"). Click on the "Select file" button and upload your combined recording from your computer.

The automations connected with that meeting type will automatically process. You have now successfully uploaded the recordings as one meeting in Jump!

To remove the previous, now-duplicated meeting, click on the previous meeting (the one with just part of the meeting recorded) and delete it. See "How to delete a processed meeting" for more information.
