What is the Template Gallery
The Template Gallery is a collection of pre-built templates created by Jump's Customization Team. Instead of creating a note or email template from scratch, you can start from one that already matches the kind of meeting you're documenting.
How templates get to your Templates tab
Your Templates tab is the single source of truth for what you can use. Any template listed there is available to select in your automations.
Templates arrive in your Templates tab four ways:
Onboarding — when you first set up Jump, your Templates tab is seeded with the templates you initially selected. If your account uses a global User Configuration Profile, you also get the templates tied to that profile, plus any templates your account owner has shared with the account.
Creating your own — click New template on the Templates tab to write one from scratch.
Duplicating — copy any default Jump template you can already see and edit the copy.
The Template Gallery — add Jump's templates, or templates published by your parent firm. Copy any template from the gallery to make additional edits.
Who owns a template
Every template has an owner, and ownership determines who can see it and who can change it.
Type | Owned by | Who can see it | Who can edit it |
User-owned | A single user | Only that user, unless shared | That user |
Account-owned | Your firm | Everyone on the account | Account owners |
System-owned | Jump | Everyone, via the gallery | Must be duplicated to be edited |
Parent-owned | Your parent firm | Child accounts of that firm, via the gallery | Parent firm account owners only |
If you're at a firm that sits under a larger organization, such as a broker-dealer, parent-owned templates are templates which your organization has published for every child account beneath it. You can use and duplicate them, but you cannot edit the original templates.
Where to find the Template Gallery
You can open the gallery from two places.
From the Templates tab:
Go to Profile & settings > User settings > Templates.
Select Meeting Notes or Recap Emails.
Select New Template, which opens the Template Gallery.
From a meeting:
Go to Meetings > All past > AI-processed and open a processed meeting.
In the left-hand menu under After the meeting, select Meeting notes.
Find the note or email output you want to restyle. Each output is labeled with the automation that produced it, such as Internal Team Meeting | Notes.
Click Change style next to the Edit button on that output. This will open the template gallery, allowing you to select a new template for these specific notes.
Note: If you opt to change style for your AI-generated notes, you will also have the option to update that specific note automation for all meetings of that same meeting type going forward.
How to browse and filter templates
The template gallery opens in a new window titled Choose a note template. Each template appears as a card showing its title, category, a short description, who owns it, and when it was added.
To narrow the list:
Template type — filter by category. Options include General, Client review, Discovery, Internal team, Strategy, and Onboarding.
Search — search templates by name.
Date added — sort by when a template was added to the gallery.
Owned by — filter by who owns the template, such as Jump or your parent firm.
You can also view an example output for each template to see what it produces before you add it.
How to add a template
Find a template you want and click Use template. This will add the template to your Templates tab, where you can select it in your automations. The template stays owned by Jump or your parent firm. You can use it and duplicate it, but you can't edit the original.
If you're an account owner
When you add a template, you'll see an Add for all users checkbox:
Leave it unchecked and the template is added to your Templates tab only.
Check it and the template is added for everyone on the account, so it appears in every user's Templates tab. Users will be able to use and duplicate the template, but they will not be able to edit the original template itself.
How to customize a gallery template
Gallery templates can't be edited directly, but you can make an editable copy.
Find the template on your Templates tab.
Click Duplicate.
Edit the copy however you like.
The copy is yours — user-owned and fully editable, even though the original wasn't. If you're an account owner, you can then share your copy with the account, which turns it into an account-owned template that everyone can see.
How to use the template after creating it
Adding a template from Jump’s Template Gallery puts it in your Templates tab. It does not apply it to any of your meetings. To actually use a template, it has to be selected in an automation.
Your Templates tab feeds the AI-generated using template dropdown on the automations page. Adding a template makes it available in that dropdown — selecting it there is what puts it to work.
There are two ways to make that connection, and they work differently:
From the Templates tab — after adding a template, go to Profile & settings > User settings > Automations > Locate your note automation (ie. "Add note to contact", "Update event", "Generic meeting notes", etc) and select the template from the AI-generated using template dropdown. This step is manual. Jump can't tell which automation you intended the template for, so it won't make the connection for you.
From a meeting, using Change style — because the meeting has already been processed, Jump knows which automation produced that note, so selecting a new template here, and applying it to future meetings of the same type, automatically updates the automation for you.
Sharing works the same way. If you share a template with your account, or add one for all users, the automation does not automatically update. Each user still needs to select the template in their own automation.
How to remove a template
If you've added a gallery template you no longer want, click the red, trash can button on your Templates tab. This removes it from your Templates tab only. The template stays in the gallery, and you can add it again at any time.
Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
I added a template but my notes look the same. Why?
I added a template but my notes look the same. Why?
Adding a template makes it available, but it doesn't apply it. Go to Profile & settings > User settings > Automations and select the template in the automation you want it to control.
Can I edit a template from the gallery?
Can I edit a template from the gallery?
Not directly. Duplicate it first, then edit your copy.
Will adding a template change my existing notes?
Will adding a template change my existing notes?
No. Automations only affect meetings processed after the change. If you want any previous meetings to reflect your new template, you'll have to reprocess the meetings, after adding the template to your note automation.
