Who is this for?

  • Users on accounts with a “Retain nothing” meeting data storage strategy

If your account uses a Retain nothing meeting data storage strategy, Jump will not store audio, video, or transcripts from captured meetings. As a result, meeting reprocessing is unavailable, and Ask Anything is disabled.

However, there are still plenty of ways to get significant value from Jump while honoring your firm's compliance requirements. This guide walks through best practices for Jump accounts that don’t retain media or transcripts.

Note: The ability to adjust Compliance settings (even for account owners) may be restricted by your broker-dealer or parent account.

How do I know if my account has a “Retain nothing” strategy?

Account owners can verify their account’s meeting data storage strategy by going to Compliance > Meeting data > Meeting capture and retention > Meeting data storage strategy and seeing which tile is selected.

Note: If you notice that meeting data storage strategy settings are locked and cannot be changed, these settings are controlled by your parent account.

Best practices for using Jump with a “Retain nothing” strategy

Without transcript data, Jump cannot reprocess meetings or correct speaker names after they’re initially assigned. Thus, there are a few things users on a Retain nothing account should do to help Jump identify the correct meeting type and participant names the first time.

Leverage Automation rules

Use Meeting types under User settings > Automations > “When this happens…” and scope them to specific events. This helps trigger the right actions even without transcript‑based cues.

Use clear titles and proper attendees

Add specific keywords to event titles so Jump can classify the meeting ahead of time.

For example, instead of naming your calendar event “Meet with Ryan and Sara,” try “Ryan and Sara -Client Meeting” to help signal to Jump that it should use the Client Meeting automations.

Additionally, make sure client emails are in the attendee list, not only in the description, to improve participant linking without a transcript.

Configure Event filters

Filter which events enter Jump’s pipeline so only intended meetings are captured. This reduces misclassification when you can’t fall back on transcript signals.

For more information on using event filters, see this guide: How to filter events in my Upcoming tab.

Quick checklist

  • Title contains clear keywords that indicate the meeting type

  • All client participants are listed as attendees by email

  • Relevant automation rules are scoped to the event

  • Event filters exclude non‑meeting events from Jump
