What is AI Associate?
AI Associate (AIA) is Jump’s AI-powered assistant designed to help financial advisors get fast, intelligent answers — grounded in your firm’s client data across Jump, integrated CRMs, financial planning software, email, meetings, and tasks.
AIA is built to:
• Answer questions about your client meetings, notes, and Jump-native data
• Pull insights from connected CRMs (Salesforce, Wealthbox, Redtail)
• Reference financial planning tools (RightCapital, eMoney)
• Surface relevant information from connected email accounts (Microsoft Outlook and Gmail)
• Understand context from past conversations, CRM fields, and workflow metadata
• Instantly surface the most relevant insights across your firm’s connected systems
All AIA interactions are secure, compliant, and isolated within your firm's environment. If your firm has specific compliance requirements, we're happy to configure AIA to meet them.
Where to find AI Associate
AI Associate is available from anywhere within the Jump web app for faster access wherever you're working.
To access AIA:
Click the AI Associate button in the top-right corner of Jump.
The AIA panel will open, allowing you to ask questions without leaving your current page.
If you hover over AI Associate button, you'll be greeted by some introductory prompts. Feel free to click one, or simply click AI Associate to open the panel.
How to use AI Associate
1. Click the AI Associate button in the top-right corner of Jump to open the AIA panel.
2. Type your question in the text field. Be specific about the client or context you're interested in for more accurate results. For example, you could ask a question about a contact in a connected CRM, like "I'm about to join a call with (client name), what can you tell me about the last discussion we had?" or "Did we talk about any tax items in my last meeting with Tim and Aubrey?" AI Associate may ask you a clarifying question, for example, it might find multiple contacts associated with the name you asked about.
3. Review the response provided by AIA, which will include relevant data from your client records, emails, meetings, and integrated systems. AIA will state the scope of where it searched to find the answers it responds with.
4. For follow-up questions, simply continue typing in the same conversation window. AIA remembers the context of your discussion.
5. To start a fresh conversation, click the + button at the top.
6. To view previous chats, click the arrow next to the name of your current chat - in this example that would be "July recap questions". Clicking the down arrow will populate a list of your recent chats. You can also edit the name of a chat or delete one with the pencil and trash icons next to the chats.
Note: You may also adjust the layout of AI-Associate to be either a side panel view, or a floating chat box.
7. To add context to a chat with AI Associate, you can search a contact or meeting and add them to the chat by clicking the @ Add context button. AI Associate will automatically use meetings or contacts as context if you open one of them before beginning the chat.
8. Click the microphone button to use the voice to text feature instead of typing out your message to AI Associate.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)
Why does AIA also respond to unrelated or "general" questions?
Because AIA is powered by a large language model (LLM), it can answer open-ended questions beyond Jump data. This is by design to provide a flexible, helpful experience when you need information about topics like IRS limits, compliance rules, or help drafting communications.
Is AIA secure and compliant for financial advisory use?
Yes. All AIA interactions are routed through Jump's secure infrastructure with SOC 2 controls. Data is scoped only to your firm's environment, never shared outside your workspace, and isolated from other firms' data. Usage logging and query review are available upon request.
Can AIA access my client's personal information?
AIA can only access client information that you already have permission to view in Jump. It follows the same permission structure as your user account and cannot bypass any security protocols your firm has established.
Should I be concerned about asking off-topic questions?
In most cases, no. Testing the assistant or using it for general-purpose help isn't considered misuse. However, advisors should remember that AIA is an assistant—not a replacement for compliance-approved guidance—and externally-facing communication should still follow internal review processes.
Why don't I see the AI Associate button in Jump?
If you don’t see the AI Associate button in the top-right corner of Jump, your firm may have disabled AI Associate in Compliance settings. Please contact your account owner or parent account administrator to confirm whether the feature is enabled.
What context is AI Associate able to pull from?
AI Associate can pull context from any of your connected integrations, including emails, CRMs, calendars, and any other connected integration.
