Who can access this feature?

  • All Full users

Note: Depending on your firm's or broker-dealer's policies, you may not have all of these options available at this time.

Jump users can capture phone calls in three ways:

  • Using VOIPs (such as RingCentral, Intulse, Zoom Phone, and Dialpad)

  • Capturing the meeting via speaker phone, using one device for the call and one device to capture

  • Utilizing the Join My Call feature in Jump to create a conference call

Using VoIP services

To capture using RingCentral, follow the instructions on our help doc: "How to capture with RingCentral." Follow similar instructions for Dialpad or Intulse integrations!

To capture a phone call made with Zoom Phone, read this guide: "Zoom Phone integration."

Capturing the meeting via speaker phone

Alternatively, you can use the speakerphone method alongside the Jump web browser by selecting "New Meeting" and then choosing "Capture meeting now" to directly record speakerphone audio.

To capture a meeting with two devices via speaker phone, set the device which will have the call to speaker mode and the other device to capture, either via the Jump iOS/Android app, the web browser version of Jump, or a recording app.

If you used a voice memo app or other recording tool, you'll want to then upload the recorded meeting to Jump.

Utilizing the Join My Call feature

To capture a phone meeting with the Join My Call feature, you will create a new meeting in Jump on the web or in the Jump phone app.

From the Web

For the web, on the left-hand side of your screen in Jump, click on the green + New meeting button and select the option "Join my call."

If you don't see the option for "Join my call" and your firm has approved its use, please reach out using the messenger on the bottom-right corner of this screen (or the bottom-right corner of my.jumpapp.com). We will add that feature to your account.

A "New meeting" pop-up window will appear. In the field called "New number," enter the phone number you want the Jump notetaker to call, beginning with the country calling code (for US phone numbers, the country calling code is 1).

When you are ready for the Jump notetaker, click on the green button with the phone on it on the bottom right-hand side of the pop-up window. You can choose to have the notetaker call you first or wait to have it call you until after your phone meeting has begun.

From the Jump Mobile App

In the iOS app:

  1. Click on the Today page.

  2. Click the Join my call button on the top right of the screen.

  3. In the new window that opens, enter the phone number you’d like the Jump notetaker to call (usually, this is your own phone number), accept and merge the notetaker into your existing call.

In the Android app:

  1. Go to the Today tab.

  2. Click on the plus sign (+) in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

  3. Select Join my call from the dropdown list.

  4. In the new window that opens, enter the phone number you’d like the Jump notetaker to call (usually, this is your own phone number), accept and merge the notetaker into your existing call.

Note: You cannot press the red button on the mobile app to capture a phone call you're taking on the same device. If you want to use the app to capture a phone call on the same device, you'll need to use the Join my call feature.

For Both Methods

The notetaker will then call the number you provided, at which point you can answer the call.

For iPhones, select "Hold & Accept" and then select "Merge Calls."

For Androids, select the "More" button (with the three dots) and then select the "Merge" button.

When the notetaker connects to the call, it will audibly announce that the call is being recorded.

You can capture the call and end it as you would with any phone call, when you and the other user are ready to stop the phone call.

Your meeting will appear in Meetings > AI-Processed. The meeting tile will have an AI-generated title and an incoming phone call icon next to the meeting time.

Note: If your phone silences incoming calls from unknown numbers, you will need to have the notetaker call you before an official meeting. If you save the phone number to your phone as a contact, the notetaker will not go straight to voicemail for future calls.

Note: If you see the confirmation message, "The notetaker will be joining your call," but you don't receive an incoming call from the Jump notetaker, your carrier's scam shield may be blocking the call. If you have an app you use to manage spam calls, then whitelist the notetaker number (+1 888-565-4912) to ensure you can receive these calls.
